Nicholas WintonSir Nicholas George Winton, MBE is a British humanitarian who organised the rescue of 669 mostly Jewish children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia on the eve of the Second World War, in an operation later known as the Czech Kindertransport. White Waltham Famous for the Air Transport Auxillary, Young lady pilots unable to engage in combat were the flight transport arm of the RAF based at White Waltham. As the historians probe more into the various aspects of the War effort against Germany in 1939 - 1945 we see more evidence of the sterling efforts made by many who were not fully recognised forllowing their defeat of Germany.
